Fulbari, August 04 (Siliguri Journal) – A terrifying incident occurred on Sunday when an e-rickshaw lost control and plunged into the Teesta Canal. Fortunately, the children playing inside the vehicle narrowly escaped with their lives.
The incident took place in the Putimari area near the Teesta Canal. A local resident had taken the e-rickshaw to visit a relative’s house in the area. While parked near the canal, the driver left the vehicle running with the keys inside. During this time, several local children boarded the vehicle to play.
During this time, the e-rickshaw, left in ignition, suddenly veered into the Teesta Canal and plunged into the deep water. The children were later rescued, and locals managed to retrieve the submerged vehicle with a rope.
