Drug Dealer Arrested in Kharibari with Crores Worth of Brown Sugar

Kharibari, Jul 10 (Siliguri Journal) – In a major drug bust in Kharibari, authorities arrested a man attempting to smuggle brown sugar worth around one and a half crore rupees. The suspect, Rahmat Sheikh from Murshidabad, was apprehended by the jawans of the 41st battalion of the SSB.

Acting on a tip-off, SSB personnel arrested Rahmat Sheikh in Ramdhan Jote, Kharibari. During the search, they recovered 1 kg 730 grams of brown sugar. The SSB subsequently handed the suspect over to the Kharibari police.

The accused was presented at the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Wednesday. Police have launched an investigation to identify others involved in the drug smuggling operation.
