Siliguri, Jun 21 (Siliguri Journal) – In a show of outrage, local residents submitted a mass memorandum to the NJP police station, demanding swift and severe punishment for those responsible for the recent murder in Siliguri’s Ward No. 35.

According to reports, on Thursday night, residents of Roy Para in Ward No. 35, Siliguri, staged a protest outside the NJP police station, carrying placards demanding justice for the victim. They then handed a memorandum to OC Nirmal Das of the NJP police station.

The family of the deceased and local residents complained that a formal complaint was lodged at the police station a day after the incident. Meanwhile, the accused have surrendered in the Jalpaiguri Court, evading local law enforcement. The locals asserted that the police were responsible for this lapse. Additionally, the public is outraged by death threats faced by those speaking up against the criminals, prompting their demand for severe punishment.
