Siliguri, Jun 22 (Siliguri Journal) – In a swift operation, Matigara Police arrested five suspects just before they could commit a major crime. Acting on a tip-off, officers raided a location and detained Manmohan Barman, Saurav Das, Kunal Singha, Manik Barman, and Bolai Barman. All suspects are residents of Bagdogra, Phansidewa, and Matigara areas of Siliguri.
Police reportedly recovered a dagger, two iron rods, and a torch from the suspects. The tip-off had indicated that a group of youths had gathered at the Phansidewa More railway underpass with the intention of committing a major crime.
The Matigara Police’s patrol van acted promptly, arresting five individuals, though some managed to escape under the cover of darkness. The arrested suspects were produced in Siliguri court on Saturday.
