Doctors from NBMCH held a protest rally in Siliguri, demanding justice for the RG Kar Hospital victim and calling for improved security measures for medical professionals.

Siliguri, August 13 (Siliguri Journal) – In response to the national outcry over the alleged rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, doctors across West Bengal have begun strikes and protests.

On Tuesday, doctors from North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) held a protest rally in Siliguri, calling for justice for the victim and better security for medical professionals.

The rally, held near the medical college, saw significant participation from NBMCH doctors. They demanded a thorough investigation into the RG Kar Hospital incident, the arrest of all those involved, and strict punishment for the accused.

The doctors also urged the government to implement stronger safety measures for medical professionals in hospitals and medical colleges throughout the state.

On Monday, junior doctors at NBMCH had already gone on strike, staging a sit-in demonstration in front of the emergency department.
