Nepalese and Ivorian Nationals Arrested for Illegal Entry into India at Naxalbari

Naxalbari, July 31 (Siliguri Journal) – A Nepalese national and an Ivorian were arrested for attempting to illegally cross into India near the Indo-Nepal border at Naxalbari. The individuals have been identified as D. Lekpahi Saira from Ivory Coast and Arun Limbu from Nepal.

Reports indicate that on Tuesday, the detainees allegedly tried to enter India from Nepal via the Mechi River near Kotia Jote in Naxalbari. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel intercepted and interrogated them on suspicion. Following this, both individuals were handed over to the Naxalbari police.

Police sources revealed that the Ivorian national had been living in Nepal for the past three years to play football. On Wednesday, the detainees were presented in Siliguri Sub-Division Court for further legal proceedings. The entire incident is currently under investigation.
