Rajganj, Nov 26 (Siliguri Journal) – In an important move, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy marked the beginning of a new project by laying the foundation stone for a 200-meter road and a bathing ghat. The ceremony was attended by Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed, former Upa-Pradhan Tushar Dutta, Bijoy Das, Kanailal Biswas, and other community leaders.
Reports indicate that this Sunday marked the official commencement of road construction in the Laxmi Jote area under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat, Rajganj Block. Additionally, a foundation stone was laid for a permanent bathing ghat near Maa Ganga Mandir along the Karotoya River in Ambari. The project, backed by the MLA’s fund, is set to unfold with a budget estimated at Rs 7 lakhs.
Addressing the gathering, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy highlighted the long-standing demand of the local residents for a well-constructed road and bathing ghat. Acknowledging these demands, the construction work has now begun, aiming to serve the community and fulfill the needs of both residents and devotees.
