Siliguri, April 30 (Siliguri Journal) – Siliguri police officers have caught two people with illegal foreign alcohol valued at lakhs of rupees. The individuals arrested are Rajesh Kumar, aged 33, from Bihar, and Mohammad Imran, aged 23, from Vishwas Colony in Matigara.
According to reports, following a tip-off, the police conducted a raid in the Jalpai More area, which falls under the Siliguri police station’s jurisdiction. Late on Monday night, they stopped an e-rickshaw and discovered illegal foreign liquor worth lakhs during the search. This discovery led to the immediate arrest of the individuals involved.
Police sources disclosed that the liquor was intended for smuggling to Bihar. The accused duo was brought before the Siliguri court on Tuesday. Currently, the police are actively conducting further investigations into the matter.
