Siliguri, July 25 (Siliguri Journal) – A shocking incident unfolded Thursday morning in the Jamurivita area, where a young man was brutally beaten in public over suspicions of being a kidnapper. The attack happened under the jurisdiction of the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Police Station.
According to reports, the incident occurred after several days of abduction rumors circulating in the city. Despite the police’s statement that there is no evidence of kidnapping in this case, residents are panicked and concerned. Efforts by the police to curb these rumors have been unsuccessful, leaving the city in a state of fear.
In the recent case, local residents reportedly assaulted a young man, suspecting him of kidnapping a child. Upon receiving the information, officials from the NJP Police Station promptly arrived at the scene and took the youth into custody. Locals claimed that the youth was attempting to abduct a child before he was caught. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
