SMC Demolishes Illegal Structures in Siliguri’s Ward 35

Siliguri, Jun 25 (Siliguri Journal) – The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) demolished unauthorized structures in Ward 35 near Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road on Tuesday. Acting on a High Court order, the SMC targeted parts of a residential building that allegedly deviated from approved plans.

The demolition operation began on Tuesday morning with police on-site to ensure security and order. Several flats across three floors of the residence were demolished. This action is part of a broader High Court-mandated initiative to address illegal constructions across various wards in the city.

On Monday, a similar demolition occurred in Ward 34, where unauthorized sections of another residence were dismantled.
