SUCI’s 12-Hour Bengal Strike Over R.G. Kar Incident Enforced in Siliguri

Siliguri, August 16 (Siliguri Journal) – The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) called a 12-hour Bengal strike to protest the recent incident at RG Kar Medical College, where a woman doctor was allegedly raped and murdered, followed by acts of vandalism on Wednesday night.

In Siliguri, strike supporters hit the streets early Friday, holding rallies and urging businesses to close in solidarity. Several processions moved through various parts of the city, including local markets, where activists requested shopkeepers to observe the bandh.
